Negotiating In a Pawn Shop

Negotiating is all part of “Pawn shopping.”  Typically the ticketed price that you are looking at could be talked down.  Make sure you do your homework if there is a certain product you’re looking for.  For example the type of brand, series, size, etc… are all things to consider.  Make sure you ask for a manager or owner that can make the decision in price agreements.

On average, the people that bring in items to pawn shops fail to clean them.  So Pawn shops will believe the value of the item has “depreciated.”  These types of items could easily be cleaned and can be considered “like new” condition.    Don’t be afraid to point out blemishes such as scratches, dents, missing parts, and so forth…

Make sure that you ask questions!!

  •   Are all the original parts included?
  •  How long has it been in inventory?
  •   Any scratches or damages?
  •   Ask if there is still warranty on the item?  If so how long?
  •   What is the Return Policy?
  •   Satisfaction Guaranteed?
  •   What’s the best price you could give me?
  •   What’s the best price you could give me for cash?
